Ingredients

  • 3 cups murmura (puffed rice)
  • ½ cup peanuts
  • 2 tbsp roasted chana dal (optional)
  • 10–12 curry leaves
  • ½ tsp turmeric
  • ½ tsp red chilli powder
  • ¼ tsp black salt
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp oil

Step-by-step

Roast peanuts
Step 1 — Roast peanuts

Heat oil in a pan and roast peanuts until golden and crunchy.

Add spices
Step 2 — Add curry leaves & spices

Add curry leaves, turmeric, chilli powder and salt.

Add murmura
Step 3 — Add murmura

Mix puffed rice and stir gently for 2–3 minutes on low flame.

Cool mixture
Step 4 — Cool

Switch off flame and allow mixture to cool completely.

Store
Step 5 — Store

Store in an airtight container for 2 weeks freshness.
