Ingredients
- 2 cups fresh methi leaves
- 2 potatoes (cubed)
- 2 tbsp oil
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- ¼ tsp turmeric
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
- Salt to taste
- ½ tsp garam masala (optional)
- Garlic (optional)
Step-by-step
Step 1 — Prep potatoes
Peel and cube potatoes, rinse and keep aside.
Step 2 — Heat oil
Add cumin seeds to hot oil and let them crackle.
Step 3 — Add potatoes & spices
Add turmeric, chilli powder and salt. Cook 5–7 minutes.
Step 4 — Add methi
Add fresh methi leaves and let them wilt completely.
Step 5 — Cook until soft
Cover, cook until potatoes turn soft. Finish with garam masala.
Tips & Variations
- Sprinkle lemon juice to balance methi bitterness.
- Add garlic for stronger flavour.
- Do not add water — cook on low flame for best texture.
